Our Wedding Car Hire Service. Frequently Asked Questions
What do your prices
include?
We only book one wedding per day for each car and provide
a fixed price service based on the wedding location and an agreed itinerary.
Our service includes decorating cars with ribbons and bows in a colour of
your choice and vehicles are driven by our professional, friendly uniformed
drivers.
Providing the picks up are not too far away from the church
or venue, we can provide one more journeys to include the Grooms party,
Bridesmaids and Bride, with no hidden extra charges or unreasonable time
limits to complete the booking.
Most people underestimate
how long bookings take, particularly the time required for those all important
photographs after the wedding ceremony. But don't worry, we only book one
wedding per day for each car so if things overrun the driver will wait.
Do you own your own
vehicles?
Yes we do. We are NOT a booking agent and own and operate
a unique collection of classic and vintage style cars, some seating up to
7 passengers. We are therefore responsible for the entire booking
process and providing the service on the day.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Reading, Berkshire and provide our cars for weddings in Berkshire,
South Oxfordshire, North Hampshire, Wiltshire, Buckinghamshire and the West London areas.
Do you provide cars
for different types of weddings?
We provide cars for traditional church wedding, Civil weddings
at a hotel or specialist wedding venues, as well as Asian weddings of all
types and are an LGBTQ+ friendly company. We are here to help so please
contact Chris or Craig anytime.
Can we arrange a
viewing before booking?
Yes of course, we would be delighted to show you our collection
of cars and there is no obligation to book. During the viewing we
will invite you to sit in the cars so you can check how easy it will be
to get in and out of each vehicle in the Brides wedding gown and will ensure
the car of your choice is suitable for the number of passengers to be transported
and advise if several journeys or 2 cars may be required.
The wedding ceremony
and reception are at the same place. Do we really need a wedding car?
Why not, it's a wonderful way to arrive in elegance and style
in one of our fantastic wedding cars. The driver will wait for those
must be seen photographs with the car following the wedding ceremony and
then take the happy couple for a drive. The drive is a popular option,
being the only time during the days proceedings that they will have time
together.
Do you provide discounts?
We are pleased to provide low season discounts. Depending
on how many cars are already booked on your wedding date, we may be able
to provide a two car discount as well. So for the best multi car discounts
early booking is recommended.
Do you provide free
champagne?
Some companies may offer complimentary Sparking Wine/Bubbly
as an incentive to book with them. However the law states with the
Licensing Act 2003 that no company can legally supply any sort of alcohol,
even if it's claimed to be a Wedding Gift /Complimentary /Free or anything
else, unless that company has a license to provide alcohol.
Fortunately
there is a solution and we can legally serve Champagne supplied by the Bride
and Groom. This works rather well anyway, since most couples have
a preference for a particular good quality brand. Just give your favourite
bottle or half bottle of Champagne or Sparkling Wine to the driver on the
day and they will serve it at the appropriate time. We don't charge
any extra for this service.
What if it's raining,
do you provide umbrellas?
All cars carry at least one umbrella for your convenience.
If required the driver can hold the umbrella for the Bride and Groom during
photographs at the church or venue. They are there to help.
Are the drivers fully
suited?
All our male chauffeurs will be fully uniformed in a navy
or dark grey suite with matching hat.
What advice do you
give when booking a wedding car?
Whichever company you propose to book with, always ask if
you can view their cars prior to booking (even if you don't want to).
If they decline it's likely that they don't have the car to show you, or
the car is in poor condition. A reputable company that own their own
cars will always be happy to arrange a viewing.
Book with a company
that own and operate several vehicles of their own and will be responsible
for providing the service on the day.
Check they have back up vehicles
in case, for any reason, your car is unavailable on the day.
Always
read the Terms and Conditions of Service, particularly when comparing prices.
Check if there are booking restrictions, time limitations, or additional
charges that you may need to take into account.
Check their Google
and Facebook for 5 star reviews. Don't take wedding awards too seriously.
When booking, always ensure the company has all the necessary details
regarding the requirements for your wedding car and they confirm that in
writing. Check the booking confirmation for any errors, ensure the
pick up times, addresses and post codes and contact details are all correct.
Can you transport
children?
We take safety very seriously. There are legal restrictions
when transporting children in wedding cars, particularly children under
the age of 4 years. Some of our cars are fitted with lap seat belts
and together with a cushion booster seat can be suitable for transporting
young children. Under no circumstances will we allow very young children
or babies to be carried on passengers laps in any of our wedding cars.
Please contact us if you need further advice on this.
Do you provide cars
for school proms and special occasion hire?
We would love to do that, but unfortunately due to insurance
and licensing restrictions set by UK Law we are unable to provide cars for
any Private Hire bookings. Private Hire incorporates School Proms,
Birthdays, Theatre Trips, Airport Transfers etc.
The vehicles
shown on our website are fully insured and legal for Weddings, Marriage
Blessings and Civil Partnerships.
We don't know of any wedding car
company providing cars for Private Hire, but if you do need a car here are
a few tips to help you in your search: 1) Ensure the car hire company
and its vehicles are fully licensed by their local authority. 2) They
have full Private Hire and Reward Insurance (not just Wedding Hire Insurance).
3) The drivers are licensed by the same local authority as the cars.
If you book a vehicle for a prom or special occasion hire without
the company having Private Hire insurance and licensing in place the passengers
will be travelling uninsured!
What happens if the
car breaks down?
Our cars are very reliable and meticulously maintained and
a breakdown is very unlikely. However, if for any reason the car is
unavailable on the day we will provide a suitable alternative whenever possible.
How far in advance
should cars be booked?
To ensure a good choice of vehicles, booking at least one
year in advance is recommended. You can never book too early, but
you can leave it too late!
What is your booking
procedure?
First of all please contact us for a quote and availability and then
complete our wedding booking form. We ask for a £100/car deposit and the balance is paid 30
days prior to the wedding. We can take deposit payments by personal
debit/credit card, or bank transfer.
